Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
- Friday: 4 pm - 7 pm
- Saturday: 11 am - 7 pm
- Sunday: 11 am - 7 pm
- up to approx. 15 hours a week
Responsibilities:
- Safety Oversight: Enforce and uphold strict safety regulations and protocols for all range activities. Monitor participants' compliance with safety rules and intervene as necessary to prevent unsafe behavior.
- Range Supervision: Oversee shooting sessions, ensuring that participants follow range rules and guidelines. Provide guidance on proper firearm handling, shooting techniques, and equipment usage.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond promptly and effectively to any emergencies, such as medical incidents, equipment malfunctions, or fires. Administer first aid when necessary and coordinate with emergency services.
- Education and Training: Conduct safety briefings and orientations for new range users. Deliver educational materials on firearms safety, range procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain shooting range equipment, including target carriers, safety barriers, ventilation systems, and protective gear.
- Incident Reporting: Document all safety incidents, accidents, and near misses. Compile accurate and detailed incident reports, including the nature of the incident, parties involved, and corrective actions taken.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to range participants, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and feedback. Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere for individuals of all experience levels.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to firearms and shooting ranges. Ensure the range operates in full compliance with these laws.
- Range Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shooting range area. Dispose of spent casings, empty magazines, and other waste appropriately.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with range management, instructors, and other staff members to ensure seamless operations and consistent communication regarding safety updates and improvements.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Range Safety Officer (RSO) from a recognized firearms training organization preferred but not required.
- In-depth knowledge of firearms safety principles, shooting techniques, and range operations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey safety instructions clearly and effectively.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Proven ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and perform duties for extended periods.
- Experience in emergency response and conflict resolution is beneficial.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing shooting ranges and firearms usage.
