Schedule: Monday–Friday (8:30 am - 4:30 pm CST) | On-Call Rotation (Evenings/Weekends) 

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to support our growing portfolio of high-end single-family homes. This role requires a motivated self-starter with strong technical expertise and a proactive approach to home care. The technician will communicate directly with homeowners and report to the Single-Family Home Project Coordinator to ensure each residence remains safe, functional, and impeccably maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain regular communication with homeowners regarding daily operations, maintenance updates, and budgeting needs
  • Conduct weekly routine property walk-throughs and inspect all mechanical systems and home structures
  • Perform general repairs, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and painting
  • Ensure all home equipment (e.g., appliances, sump pumps, HVAC systems) operate properly
  • Implement and follow preventive maintenance schedules as directed by the Project Coordinator or homeowners
  • Coordinate, oversee, and verify work completed by third-party vendors and contractors
  • Keep detailed maintenance records and submit daily reports to the SFH Project Coordinator and homeowners
  • Comfortable working independently across various property sites with limited supervision.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and communication.

Qualifications & Experience Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of residential maintenance or building operations experience
  • Practical knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a high attention to detail
  • Proficient with hand and power tools; able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor

Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to assist with other properties around Illinois (i.e. Evanston, Glenview, Winnetka, Chicago, and surrounding neighborhoods)
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and active auto insurance
  • Smartphone capable of receiving work updates and accessing digital reporting tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule for evening/weekend emergencies
  • You must pass a background check and provide professional references upon request
